Professor and Chair, Michael Newton, was featured in an article on Huntington’s Disease research in the School of Computer, Data, and Information Sciences newsletter.
Newton collaborated with Professor Jane Paulsen of the Department of Neurology to analyze data from a large study on early Huntington’s disease. The analysis identified two proteins that decline as Huntington’s develops. This advance may reveal the disease years before symptoms, offering the potential for patients to weigh treatment options, and even life plans.
