This post bears the sad news that Paul Rathouz, Professor and former Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, surrounded by family.
Paul served as BMI Chair from 2011-2018 before he took a role as Division Chief of Health Informatics, Data Science & Epidemiology in the Dept of Population Health at Dell Medical School, University of Texas at Austin. He was also the founding Director of the Biomedical Data Science Hub at the Dell Medical School.
