PCORI awarded BMI Associate Professor Guanhua Chen a 3-year, $1.05M contract for a study titled “Learning Interpretable and Fair Personalized Treatment Rules.” Dr. Chen will collaborate with Professor Maureen Smith (co-I) and Dr Jared Huling (consultant) from the University of Minnesota to develop personalized treatment rules (PTRs) that can guide healthcare professionals in making informed decisions for telehealth service. These rules will determine the most appropriate telehealth approach for each patient, tailored to their specific health conditions and needs.
