BMI affiliate faculty member and faculty leader for the SMPH Learning Health Systems Initiatives, Majid Afshar, was inducted as a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) in May.
AMIA launched the Applied Informatics Recognition Program (FAMIA) in 2018. This program recognizes members who apply informatics skills and knowledge within their professional setting, who have demonstrated professional achievement and leadership, and who have a sustained commitment to the betterment of AMIA.
