BDS PhD student Jiacheng Miao, advised by Assistant Professor Qiongshi Lu, won this year’s ASA Section on Statistical Genomics and Genetics Student Paper award.
The paper is titled “A quantile integral linear model to quantify genetic effects on phenotype variability.” You can see the pre-print on bioRxiv.
The quantile integral linear model provides a unified framework for quantifying genetic effects on phenotypic variability at two levels: single variant and variance quantitative trace loci (vQTL). This method can help researchers understand how genes and environments interact to jointly shape human phenotypes.
Congratulations to Jiacheng for this outstanding accomplishment.
